Fort Belvoir Rv Park - Travel Camp is open year round, 7 days a week. With a prime location on the banks of the Potomac River and only a 30-minute drive from DC, it's where everyone wants to be.
There are 52 fully loaded RV camps within 40 feet (Travel Camp Sitemap PDF). Each campsite has a picnic table, a fire pit for grilling and bonfires, and a beautiful view of the Potomac River. Castle Park, two fishing areas and the Accotink Wildlife Refuge trails are close to the campground. Outdoor Recreation offers other services including: firewood, bait, ice cream, equipment rental, hunting, fishing, hiking, biking and boating.

If you are visiting the Fort and looking for a place to stay, you can rent the Outdoor Recreation Guest Rooms, located in the Officer's Suite. Rooms have king and queen suites with a small refrigerator, hob, microwave and sink. It's Barely Camping
The Thermo-Con House, a prototype built in 1949 using experimental building materials, represents the best surviving example of the International Fort Style. The house also shows the willingness of the Army to try new building materials and technology.
The Thermo-Con House, a single-family residence, is located in the South Post area of the National Qualified Fort Historic District. The house is set back from the corner of Gunston Road and 21st Street, somewhat isolated. Gerber Village's single family homes are to the north, and Gerber Village's duplexes are to the east. Fort Travel Camp offers Outback Terrain 299 TBH travel trailers available for a minimum stay of 2 nights. Nestled in a beautiful location on the banks of the Potomac River, this new travel trailer showcases camping. the best! Trailers feature Deluxe Morgan Cherry cabinets, large display windows, large overhead cabinets, 32 inch HDTV, suede blinds, coffered ceiling, sink one deep with 3 drains, two 6 cu. ft. refrigerator, tall faucet, 3 burners with oven, microwave, Deluxe box spring mattress, two queen beds, multi-ventilation closets, his and her lights, room speakers, 2 full wardrobes, USB charging port, AC wall thermostat. 13,500 BTU and 30,000 BTU furnace.
Deposits are payable at the time of booking. No cash or check deposits. The deposit will only be refunded if the travel trailers have been inspected on time and are clean. All deposits must be requested on the return date. Cancellations must be made 7 days before the reservation starts.
Sea Air Village
Active duty military personnel, retired military personnel, reservists, National Guard, DoD personnel, installation contractors, and persons listed in AR215-1, section 7-1 are eligible to camp at Fort Travel Camp.
Eligible User Verification: Valid proof of eligibility must be presented upon arrival.
ATTENTION PATRONS: Starting March 1, 2023, the price of Travel Camp is USD 60 per night. Those with reservations made after February 1 will be refunded the old price. Any reservations made between now and February 1st will continue to use the current $55 day/night rate. Customers will be charged a $60 new rate per night for any new bookings and/or any changes or updates to their bookings if the dates fall on or after February 1st.
Reservations are accepted up to one year in advance. Cancellations or changes must be made 1 week (7 days) before check-in for a full refund for Travel Camp and 48 hours for our Guest Rooms, Thermo-con and Rustic Cabin. Due to bad weather, payments cannot be made.

Access to a large outdoor recreation center. Check-in time is 14:00. for camping and 3pm for our guest rooms, Thermo-Con and Rustic Cabin. Documents required upon arrival include ID to verify eligibility and current vehicle registration. An authorized ID card holder must be present throughout the stay. Upon arrival, campers will receive a gate code to enter the camp.
After hours check-in must be arranged in advance. Please refer to your receipt for arrival times and methods. Entry packets can be obtained from the after-hours packet collection box located at the Outdoor Recreation Center (10155 Johnston Road, Fort VA 22060).
Check-out takes place at the Outdoor Recreation Center and must be completed by 12:00 PM. on the last day of booking Travel Camp and until 11:00 am for our guest rooms, Thermo-con and Rustic Cabin. To complete the opt-out, please return the opt-out form.

Holiday Inn Express Hotel And Suites Alexandria/fort Belvoir
While we enjoyed visiting the Library of Congress (we've never been there - and we've lived there for 15 years) and visiting Mount Vernon again, another part of the trip we really enjoyed was it was an RV park in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. . A new addition to Belvoir, Northern Virginia. Fort Belvoir has grown in the last 15 years - with an impressive new military hospital - the biggest addition is the RV Park near the entrance to the Potomac River.
We were lucky to find a place right on the river. With full hookups we had a great view of the water. There is a laundry room and a bathroom for guests to use - both brand new. The campground offers ~5 pitches, a few on the water, many on the stretch and some back into the woods. The park is behind a coded gate, so only people with a code can enter the camp.
This is in addition to the limited access to the military base. We loved this park and hope to come back in the future. For those with pets, they provide plenty of space for dogs to run around.
You can find a website with your military ID, retired military ID, current or retired CAC and other government employees (state and FBI). I would suggest ignoring the negative comments about this paragraph - it's great!
