Located on the beautiful Potomac River, Fort's Marina offers a unique boating experience for all active and retired military service members and their families, as well as members of the Department of Defense workforce. The Great Potomac takes boaters past Mt. Vernon, home of George Washington, and toward our nation's capital, overlooking the city's monuments and parks. For those who prefer to fish or stay close to nature, this area offers plenty of quiet areas to relax and watch eagles, herons and other local wildlife.

With limited dry storage and wet storage tickets available, a waiting list will be created. Preference will be given to active duty, but retirees (military and civilian) and Department of Defense civilians remain eligible. If you currently reserve a space on our site, you will receive the previous price until check-out. With limited RV storage spaces available and increased demand for storage, active duty service members living at the fort facility will receive priority placement. Active members of the service are still admitted to a waiting list. Retirees and DoD civilians are only eligible for storage 20 feet or less at this time due to active duty priority and the length of our waiting list. Please note that most RVs over 22 feet have a significant wait time. Monthly costs are based on military rank and vehicle length; see table below. Call +1 (703)805-2027 or +1 (703)805-3081 for more information.

Marina And Rv Storage
We will take you to another website and it may have a different privacy policy than ours. We just had to inform you. We stayed at Fort Belvoir Travel Camp in May 2021 at SITE 39 overlooking the Potomac River. We loved it and will plan to visit again!
FORT BELVOIR ARMYBASE TRAVEL CAMP! As I mentioned above, thanks to Kevin's Army service and discharge classification (only specifics are allowed), we can use these FAMs, or travel camps as they are called, which are right on a military base. (all service branches) and in many cases campers get use of PX, commissary and other on-base services.
The prices (we paid $47 p/night in May 2021) to stay are not necessarily cheaper than the normal price of nearby private campsites, but the security is exceptional, you know you are just camping with other military and using the other basic services such as swimming pool, hairdresser, fitness centers etc. assigned on some bases is really nice. PLUS... in this case we are camping RIGHT ALONG THE POTOMAC RIVER AND 1/2 HOUR FROM WASHINGTON DC. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT TRAVEL CAMP.
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! Easy access to I-95, Washington DC, Alexandria and historic Frederickburg, VA and many historic sites including Mount Vernon.

The main entrance gate to the FAM camp. As there is no staff, registration takes place in the nearby recreation building. Watch for signs, it's easy to miss.
The bath house has exterior doors leading to one of these full baths with private shower. Access from the outside of each end of the building. Very private, secure and immaculate.
Kevin said this is how ALL service pedestals should be. This camp is less than 10 years old and very well maintained.
In retrospect, the timing of our Memorial Day at Fort Belvoir was not perfect. DC was a mob scene and most of the museums in DC we hadn't yet seen were closed or on severely limited pre-booked timed passes due to Covid-19 yet. It was a bummer, but we had a great full day nearby (about a 35 minute drive) in Fredericksburg, VA. This is a colonial town with tons of history, historic buildings, great restaurants and shops. We enjoyed a great "German lunch" in Deutschland Downtown and had fun touring some of the historic buildings. In our opinion, it's worth a day trip. Oh…and did I mention there is a large IKEA store about 15 minutes from the camp? Yeah... I dropped some coins there the other day too! We also took a quick trip to Mount Vernon just to visit their bookstore and gift shops as we have been there many times to reenact our living history so no tour is necessary for this visit.

The Thermo-Con House, a prototype built in 1949 using an experimental building material, represents Fort's best extant example of the International Style. The house also illustrates the Army's willingness to experiment with innovative construction technologies and materials.
